Memorials may be given to the Astoria Fire Dept. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 27th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Services will be held on Thursday, Januat 11:00 am at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Mike belonged fro the Teamsters and coached his children's youth ball teams. He was also a member of the Astoria Fire Department where he served as an EMT. He was a founding member of the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI and was an avid Harley rider. He worked for IDOT for 20 years, retiring in 2008. Mike then worked for the State Of Illinois, first as a bridge tender at the Franklin Street Bridge in Peoria until it's closing, then was transferred to Fulton County and worked as a road maintainer and MMI. He worked for Caterpillar in Peoria, was an over the road trucker for Star Transportation, and worked at Gorsuch Appliance. He was a graduate of Triopia High School in Concord, IL. Mike was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Mark. She survives.Īlso surviving are four daughters, Michelle (and Rodney) Schisler of Corbin, KY, Stephanie (and Jeremy) Polley of Maysville, KY, Anissa (and Matt) Plummer of East Peoria, IL, and Alisha (and Casey) Morrow of Peoria, IL, his son Brian (and Susan) Shawgo of Ripley, OH, eleven grandchildren Corey, Kayla, Carolyn, Kami, Heather, Miranda, Jake, Haley, Haley, Megan, and Tage, six great-grandchildren, his mother, Thelma Shawgo of Hamilton, IL, three sisters, Lynnette (and Dan) Parson of Denver, IL, Sandra (and Jerry) Haist of Macomb, IL, and Janis (and Tony) Shuman of Hamilton, IL, and two brothers, Max (and Penny) Shawgo of Mendon, IL and Mitchell (and Ginger) Shawgo of Astoria, IL. He married Marilyn Hammond on in Astoria. He was born on Jin Canton, a son of Max and Thelma (Loughary) Shawgo. Shawgo, age 64 of Astoria, passed away at 12:58 am on Sunday, Januat Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. Michael "Mike" Shawgo July 6th, 1951 – January 24th, 2016
